The variety of varieties of garden strawberries is very large, sometimes it is even difficult to make a choice. Czech breeders have bred a new variety Maryshka, many want to grow strawberries and its fruits. This variety leaves no gardener indifferent. What is this strawberry, its description, planting and care will be discussed below. Knowing all the weaknesses and strengths of this variety and observing the rules of cultivation and care, you can get a good harvest.

Grade description

Choosing a particular strawberry variety, the gardener draws attention to the following criteria:

  • disease resistance;
  • productivity;
  • sizes
  • taste;
  • density.

Variety Maryshka meets all of the above indicators. Choosing this variety, not a single gardener has remained disappointed. Perhaps the main feature of this variety is that the fruits of strawberries are large and sometimes reach the size of a matchbox. Berries grow in clusters. The fruits are very sweet but dry. Variety Maryshka is mid-early. This strawberry should be planted at the end of September. The site for planting must be selected open, but without drafts.

Bushes Garden Marks medium size. Leaves are few. Fruits are placed on top of the leaves, making harvesting easier. A distinctive feature of strawberries is that the berries ripen almost simultaneously. They do not need to be collected every 3-4 days as they mature.

Garden Mark has a fairly powerful and strong root system, which is practically not susceptible to viruses and diseases. With the right fertilizer, strawberry leaves will retain their glossy green color even during extreme heat.

According to the ripening of strawberry fruits, the garden Mark is related to mid-early species. Strawberries ripen in mid-June. Due to the fact that they keep up almost simultaneously, they will not be able to enjoy them for a long time. After 10-14 days, there will be practically no berries.

Strawberries: variety selection

The root system gives all its energy to the berries, so after harvesting it needs to recover properly. To do this, water the beds so that the water stands. In addition to powerful irrigation, the soil should be enriched with mineral fertilizers. In late September or early October, peat or sawdust should be added to the soil. At the first frosts, strawberry bushes should be covered with sprigs of spruce branches.

Strawberry garden Marishka does not form many mustaches and sockets. If you plan to propagate strawberries, then you should not buy seedlings in addition. The number of outlets that the bush produces is quite enough.

Due to the fact that the berries grow in clusters, the shape of the fruit can be completely different. The small distance between the berries significantly affects the growth and development of each of them. Ripe fruits have a rich red color with a bright glossy tint. The average weight of one berry is 40-50 g.

If you properly care for wild strawberries, then you can harvest a good crop from one bush, for example, 1 bush will give 0.5 kg of ripe and tasty berries. Seeds are bright yellow, slightly protrude to the surface. Most seeds are on the tip of the berry.

Landing and care

The choice of landing site should be approached with due attention. The site should be well lit, otherwise the berries will lose their sugar content. Strawberries should not be planted next to large trees. Also, pepper, tomatoes, potatoes and eggplants should not grow near strawberry bushes, as they are carriers of verticillosis.

This strawberry variety does not like plentiful watering. If there is a chance of flooding of the bushes, then drainage is necessary. Excessive moisture is very detrimental to strawberry bushes. The soil should not be acidic. The acidity should not exceed 5.5-6 pH.

Strawberry of the Maryshka variety is a non-frost-resistant crop, so it should be covered with a film or hay.

Before planting strawberry seedlings, the soil should be properly fertilized. The soil should be loosened and moist. When planting bushes, keep a distance between the bushes to leave about 20-30 cm. With a dense planting it will be inconvenient to harvest. Also, a dense landing can lead to the formation of gray rot and powdery mildew. When the fruits ripen, the bushes are significantly scattered.

First planted seedlings should be watered by sprinkling method of 2-3 liters per 1 m². A week later, when the seedlings began, you can water once every 6-7 days.

Disease and Prevention

Growing strawberries is a troublesome activity. Even with proper care, you can still encounter various diseases of strawberry bushes. If measures are not taken in a timely manner, then one can remain not only without a crop, but also with empty beds.

Gray rot is very dangerous for many varieties of strawberries. But, oddly enough, Variety Marishka is not susceptible to the formation of gray rot. Nevertheless, red root rot is particularly dangerous for strawberry bushes. It may appear if the landing site was chosen incorrectly. Root rot in most cases manifests itself in moist and unlit soil. The affected root system does not allow the shrub to develop.

An infected bush is very easy to identify. Leaves turn yellow and dry. The roots become darker. At the first symptoms of the disease, the infected bush should be eliminated. To prevent the spread of rot, seedlings in a solution of adapted fungicides should be soaked before planting.

How to plant strawberries

Variety Marishka can infect viral diseases. Carriers are insects, such as ticks and aphids. Yellow spots appear on the leaves. It is impossible to independently determine which virus infected the plant. With viral diseases, insects should first be eliminated. After harvesting, the leaves need to be cut and destroyed.
